Quesnel, Canada Northern Health Authority Full time
Position Overview

Are you passionate about advancing your nursing expertise? We offer a unique educational opportunity for a dedicated Registered Nurse focused on delivering exceptional patient care within the Operating Room department at Northern Health Authority.

Under the supervision of the Manager of Critical Care and Surgery, the perioperative nurse plays a vital role in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care and nursing practices, all while adhering to quality management principles aligned with the Northern Health mission.

Northern Health Regional Operating Room Education (RORE) and Post Anesthetic Recovery Overview:

The Northern Health Regional Operating Room Education (RORE) utilizes a standardized, evidence-based online curriculum provided by the Association of Registered Nurses (AORN), known as Periop 101.

This curriculum is accessible across British Columbia, ensuring a consistent provincial perioperative education program that promotes continuity of care and practice portability.

RORE integrates AORN's Periop 101 online curriculum with hands-on skills labs and clinical preceptorships, equipping nurses to deliver safe and proficient perioperative nursing care in both scrub and circulating roles at an entry-level.

The Post Anesthetic Recovery (PAR) area is characterized by a dynamic, technologically advanced environment. PAR nurses manage multiple competing priorities, including continuous patient observation and meticulous monitoring with advanced equipment. Nurses are responsible for patient flow management while ensuring safety standards are upheld.
