Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Analyst to join our Global Transaction Banking team. As a Senior Technical Analyst, you will be responsible for providing full system life cycle management and support of our file translation platform, which delivers payment and reporting services to our commercial and corporate customer base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement database structures and schemas to ensure optimal performance and data security.
  • Monitor database performance and identify opportunities for optimization, implementing changes as needed.
  • Develop and enforce data security policies and procedures to protect sensitive information.
  • Back up and restore databases in case of data loss or corruption, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Review procedures related to database changes required for application delivery or infrastructure maintenance.
  • Manage user access and permissions to the database, ensuring secure and controlled access.
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and collaborate with other IT staff to resolve them, providing timely and effective support.
  • Develop automation for day-to-day operational database tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date database documentation, ensuring easy access to critical information.
  • Train and develop the team to enhance their skills and knowledge, promoting a culture of continuous learning.
  • Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption.

Requirements

  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in database technologies.
  • Expert knowledge of SQL tuning and database performance optimization.
  • Experience with performance tuning of MS databases, highly available payment and transactional systems, data replication, and database clusters.
  • Strong understanding of financial payment products and services, including technical aspects and business logic.
  • Collaborative mindset, with experience working with Dev, QA, Testing, and Operations teams.
  • Self-motivated and able to learn quickly, with a strong desire to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
  • Certifications in database technologies, such as Microsoft Certified Database Administrator, are an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong team player, with the ability to work seamlessly with others in a team environment.
