We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Director of Residential Construction to join our team at Ottawa Home Contractors Ltd. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction and renovation of residential properties, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Allocate resources to implement organizational policies and programs
  • Authorize and organize the establishment of major departments and associated senior staff positions
  • Co-ordinate the work of regions, divisions or departments
  • Establish financial and administrative controls; formulate and approve promotional campaigns; and approve overall human resources planning
  • Establish objectives for the organization and formulate or approve policies and programs
  • Represent the organization, or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the organization, in negotiations or other official functions
  • Select middle managers, directors or other executive staff; delegate the necessary authority to them and create optimum working conditions
  • Plan, set up and administer accounting systems
  • Manage finances or budget
  • Establish and maintain contact with suppliers
  • Establish and maintain required environment
  • Establish contact for interview by telephone or in person
  • Establish marketing programs
  • Develop marketing strategies
  • Supervise the preparation of drawings, specifications and other construction documents for use by contractors and tradespersons
  • Oversee the process of hiring actors and crew members for the production
  • Monitor budgets allocated to environmental programs
Requirements
  • 5 years or more of experience in residential construction or renovation
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Valid driver's license and own vehicle
  • Criminal record check and credit check
  • MS Excel, MS Office, MS PowerPoint, MS Windows, MS Word, and Quick Books skills
