As a Freeride Skiing Coach, your primary responsibility is to enhance the skiing skills of our athletes throughout the season. You will coach with professionalism and thoroughness, adhering to the standards established by the Whitewater Ski Resort. Your personal engagement with athletes will cultivate a supportive environment, reinforcing Whitewater's reputation as a frontrunner in the freeriding community.

Job Summary:

In the role of Freeride Skiing Coach, you will be responsible for training athletes within the Development, Advanced, and Competitive teams. Your coaching will be conducted in a professional manner, fostering positive relationships that promote their growth in big mountain freeriding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver coaching aligned with the standards set by the Whitewater Freeride Head Coach and IFSA.
  • Prioritize safety in all coaching activities.
  • Maintain a positive demeanor while coaching and interacting with staff.
  • Assist the Head Coach in communicating essential program information to athletes and parents.
  • Uphold a professional image as outlined in the Whitewater employee handbook while on duty.
  • Support the organization of training groups.
  • Travel with teams as necessary.
  • Advocate for sustainable practices in daily operations and planning.
  • Promote Whitewater's safety culture by reviewing relevant manuals and handbooks.
  • Work towards achieving departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support organizational objectives.
  • Embrace and promote Whitewater's mission and values.
  • Stay informed about legal standards regarding waivers, equipment, safety regulations, and OHS practices.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.

Required Qualifications / Education:

  • Minimum IFSA L100, CSIA, ACA, or CFSA level 1 certification (or equivalent), with dues fully paid.
  • Experience in freeride competitions.
  • Experience working with children.

  • Friendly, approachable, and outgoing demeanor.

Note: A Criminal Records Check will be required upon hire.
