Healthcare Nutrition Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Dietitian to join our Primary Care team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our interprofessional team, you will work collaboratively to develop and implement plans of care for patients, providing expert nutrition advice and support.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized plans of care for patients, incorporating evidence-based nutrition practices and principles.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' nutritional needs, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies for optimal health outcomes.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide education and support on nutrition-related topics, promoting healthy behaviors and lifestyle choices.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in nutrition, applying this knowledge to inform clinical decision-making and improve patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote excellence in patient care.
- Baccalaureate degree in nutrition and dietetics.
- Successful completion of an accredited dietetic internship program (or equivalent acceptable to the facility).
- Registrant of the College of Dietitians of British Columbia.
- Two years of clinical nutrition experience in a healthcare environment or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
- Practice-specific requirements and experience in programs such as Diabetes Education, Nutrition Support, and Kidney and Chronic Disease Management Programs.
- Valid BC Driver's License.
- Teaching: Ability to teach clients and others both one-on-one and in groups.
- Knowledge Integration: Integrates best practice and current research evidence to support professional practice decisions and actions.
- Communication: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, the public, medical staff, and the members of the interprofessional team using oral, written, and computer communication and practicing culture safety.
- Critical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data (from multiple sources) to problem-solve and make decisions effectively.
- Management: Demonstrated ability to organize work, set objectives, and establish priorities.
- Leadership: Demonstrates creative planning for change and innovation, and participates in professional development of self and others.
- Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork and a commitment to excellence in the provision of care.
