Your Responsibilities

As the Social Media Coordinator, you will report directly to the Senior Manager of Content Editorial Strategy and collaborate closely with the Senior Communications Specialist for Social Media. You will engage with the entire Corporate Communications team and network communications teams for both CBC and Radio-Canada. Your primary goal is to enhance CBC/Radio-Canada's connection with Canadians through our social media platforms and digital channels. Your duties will include:
  • Developing and scheduling content for CBC/Radio-Canada's digital and social platforms, including X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn, ensuring adherence to our editorial standards.
  • Managing a comprehensive digital editorial calendar.
  • Researching, proposing, creating, and disseminating communication materials to support various digital initiatives.
  • Engaging with Canadians through community management on CBC/Radio-Canada's digital channels in both official languages.
  • Assisting in the formulation of social media strategies to support corporate projects and initiatives.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to tailor communication efforts for diverse platforms and audiences.
  • Gathering data, analyzing performance metrics, and preparing reports to assess impact.
  • Coordinating graphic requests, translations, and approvals with internal stakeholders.
  • Creating newsletters to ensure comprehensive promotion of content.
  • Monitoring social and digital channels for real-time marketing opportunities and identifying potential issues.
  • Participating in weekly editorial meetings.
  • Creating paid social media campaigns or organizing partnership collaborations.
  • Working flexible hours, including off-hours coverage.
Qualifications
  • A university degree or certificate in communications, digital media, social media, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in communications, digital media, online marketing, or public relations.
  • Proficient and experienced in utilizing multiple social media platforms and online communication tools such as X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, with a proven ability to create and market content for these channels.
  • Familiarity with Sprout Social or similar online newsletter creation tools is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership abilities and a talent for building sustainable relationships.
  • A genuine interest in and capacity to stay updated with evolving digital and social media trends.
  • A highly creative and proactive individual capable of proposing innovative concepts.
  • A solid understanding of social media, newsletter, and web analytics.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively in both official languages (English and French).
