The Hydrogen Locomotive Project Analyst will be instrumental in facilitating projects within Rail Technology by identifying and acquiring all essential materials and components necessary for the development of advanced hydrogen locomotives. This role requires close collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to guarantee the efficient and economical procurement of high-quality materials that adhere to our rigorous sustainability standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage with internal teams (engineering, operations, finance, etc.) to comprehend project needs and ensure procurement strategies are in line with project objectives.
  • Oversee the creation and management of purchase requisitions, RFPs/RFQs, assess proposals, negotiate pricing, and nurture supplier relationships.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, innovations, and regulations pertinent to fueling infrastructure and energy procurement.
  • Assess and monitor supplier performance, ensuring adherence to agreements and quality benchmarks.
  • Initiate cost-reduction strategies and pinpoint opportunities for enhancing procurement processes.
  • Compile and deliver reports on procurement activities, market insights, and supplier performance to management.
  • Educate, qualify, and maintain a solid understanding of railroad operations safety.
  • Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and corporate governance standards throughout the procurement lifecycle.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in project/materials management, particularly in sourcing and managing suppliers for transportation and/or infrastructure initiatives. Experience in the energy sector or fueling infrastructure is highly beneficial.
  • Proficient negotiation, project management, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Capability to comprehend market dynamics and legal regulations within the railway and technology sectors.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Dedication to sustainability and an understanding of sustainable procurement principles.
