Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Director, Financial Planning and Analysis to join our team at IMAX. This is a new role that will report directly to the SVP, Finance & Controller and will be responsible for overseeing financial accounting and analysis related to joint revenue sharing arrangements, theatre maintenance revenue recognition, fixed and intangible assets, financing receivables, current expected credit losses, and leases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and operate internal controls over financial reporting for all functional areas within the Assistant Controller's organization in consultation with the Director of Internal Audit.
  • Collaborate with operational business leaders to anticipate and implement new accounting controls and processes in response to business developments.
  • Coordinate external and internal audit requests for all functional areas within the organization.
  • Work closely with the Vice President, Finance of IMAX China to standardize and harmonize accounting controls and processes.
Requirements
  • CPA with 7+ years' of progressive accounting experience, including a mix of audit experience, preferably at a Big Four firm, and hands-on industry experience at a global publicly traded company.
  • Advanced Excel and SAP skills.
  • Strong technical skills in identifying opportunities for automation and continuous incremental improvement in the areas of internal controls and related processes.
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others inside or outside the company, who can provide information, assistance, and support.
  • Provide timely guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas needed to accomplish a task or solve a problem.
  • Committed to excellence, looking for improvements continuously, monitoring quality levels, finding root cause of quality problems.
  • Displays diligence in decision making that has risk and/or financial impact.
