CyberClan Incident Response Coordinator

CyberClan is a leading cybersecurity company that provides incident response services to the insurance and legal markets, as well as commercial companies. We are seeking an experienced Incident Response Coordinator to join our team.

Job Summary

The Incident Response Coordinator will be responsible for orchestrating a proactive and efficient response to security incidents, safeguarding the organization's assets, reputation, and operations to minimize impact and restore normal operations swiftly. The candidate will be responsible for being the lead point of contact and manager throughout the project lifecycle, liaising with key internal and external stakeholders, including clients, legal counsel, insurance companies, and third-party suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Incident Response Planning: Develop and maintain incident response plans and procedures, regularly reviewing and updating response strategies based on evolving threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Incident Triage Management: Oversee the proper collection, documentation, and preservation of evidence during the incident response process, developing and updating incident response plans to ensure they align with organizational needs and industry best practices.
  • Response Coordination: Document communication among response team members, stakeholders, and external entities, including logging meetings, emails, and other relevant communications to maintain a record of decisions and actions taken.
  • Incident Containment and Mitigation: Implement containment strategies to prevent the spread of security incidents, working closely with technical teams to facilitate the timely isolation of affected systems and mitigate threats.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all incidents, including details like incident timelines, initial assessments, actions taken, and resolutions, which helps in post-incident analysis and reporting.
  • Budget Planning and Reporting: Provide information related to incident response costs for documentation and reporting purposes, coordinating with external vendors or service providers for incident response services, which might involve overseeing contracts or agreements, ensuring services align with budgets and billing terms.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and update documentation based on changes in technology, regulations, and conduct post-incident reviews to identify areas for improvement in incident response procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Rotating On-Call Availability: This position requires rotating on-call availability and responsiveness outside of standard working hours to continuous coverage for incident management.
  • Project Management: Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques, including creating project plans, resource allocation, risk management, scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder management.
  • Cybersecurity Experience: Proven experience in network administration, and cybersecurity preferred.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., A+, Network+, CISSP, CISM, GIAC) are highly favorable.
