Reporting to the Customer Accounts-Insurance Team Leader, the Accounts Receivable Specialist will be tasked with managing customer follow-ups to secure payment on overdue invoices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Oversee the recovery of customer accounts related to insurance, adhering to established protocols and internal controls;
  2. Evaluate accounts based on payment terms and initiate recovery actions within specified timelines;
  3. Conduct thorough analysis and reconciliation of customer accounts;
  4. Maintain up-to-date recovery notes in the system;
  5. Document and escalate any disputed invoices;
  6. Coordinate with sales teams regarding accounts that are overdue;
  7. Make necessary adjustments and journal entries to accounts receivable;
  8. Process customer reimbursement requests and verify their legitimacy;
  9. Address customer inquiries via phone or email;
  10. Build and sustain positive relationships with customers;
  11. Deliver exceptional customer service;
  12. Provide updates on the status of unresolved issues to the team leader;
  13. Follow up on various outstanding matters;
  14. Engage in process improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. DEC in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  2. Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in collections.
  3. Fluency in both English and French, written and spoken.
  4. Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  5. Results-driven with a strong customer service orientation.
  6. Ability to analyze situations and prioritize tasks effectively.
  7. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  8. Exhibit professional integrity and ethics.
  9. Demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, and independence.
  10. Comfortable navigating various computer systems.
  11. Flexible availability for work hours, including potential remote work.
