Accounts Receivable Specialist

The Accounts Receivable Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the precise and prompt collection of outstanding account receivables while adhering to all relevant policies and regulations. This position also supports the Finance & Sales Support Department and collaborates with team members to provide exceptional service to both internal and external Sales Teams, as well as our valued Customers.
- Collection Management: Responsible for maintaining accounts receivable at 45 days or less. This includes reviewing overdue accounts and engaging with customers via telephone to recover outstanding amounts. The specialist will negotiate payment methods and terms with clients, send form letters to encourage timely payments, and coordinate with third-party agencies to enhance collection efforts.
- Customer Record Maintenance: Accurately documents the financial status of customers and the progress of collection activities. Daily entries are made into customer accounts for payments received, and monthly reconciliations are performed to assess and improve customer performance. Collaboration with the Sales team is essential as needed.
- Quality Assurance: Ensures that all customer payments are credited accurately and promptly. Familiarity with procedures outlined in the company’s Quality Manual is essential, along with implementing corrective and preventive measures to address customer issues or complaints.
- Customer Relationship Development: Formulates strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year in an Accounts Receivable or Collections role, or in a Customer Service capacity.
- Education: A post-secondary diploma or college degree in administration or a related field.
- Skills: Proficient communication skills in both French and English are required to effectively serve clients in both languages, along with a basic understanding of accounting and computer systems (experience with Google Suite and Oracle is an asset).
