About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Conflicts Coordinator to join our team at McCarthy Tétrault. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of our client relationships and maintaining the highest standards of compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform conflict of interest searches and analyze corporate family tree research to identify potential conflicts.
  • Process requests for new clients and matters, ensuring all necessary information is obtained and stored accurately.
  • Provide training and assistance to legal assistants and lawyers on conflict resolution and compliance procedures.
  • Manage compliance surrounding Anti-Money Laundering (AML) processes and ensure all necessary documentation is in place.
  • Identify confidential matters and ensure the integrity of all parties involved.
  • Update and maintain accurate information in our accounting database.
  • Assess and apply correct tax rates to new matters based on Place of Supply and PST rules.
  • Manage billing formats and e-billing clients.
  • Generate and organize lateral hire conflict reports and ensure necessary security is applied.
  • Oversee the firm's engagement letter process and repository.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education related to accounting or database management principles.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of related experience in a legal or professional services environment.
  • Accounting knowledge and bilingual skills (English/French) are assets.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
