Role of Registered Practical Nurse

In the capacity of a Registered Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role within a cohesive, multi-disciplinary team aimed at providing comprehensive services and programs tailored to our clients' needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver care to individuals experiencing psychiatric crises requiring short-term hospitalization
  • Adapt to varying patient care requirements in accordance with established standards and protocols
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments
  • Evaluate and mitigate suicide risks while managing challenging behaviors
  • Ensure precise documentation and reporting practices
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and engage with individual team members
  • Serve as a preceptor, mentor, or coach to peers
  • Participate in clinical discussions, team meetings, and conferences with patients and families
Qualifications:
  • Registered as an RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Mental Health, Acute Assessment, or Community Crisis intervention
  • Current CPR/Basic Rescuer certification
  • Proficient in group facilitation and crisis intervention techniques
