CB Canada is seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team in Emergency Mental Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care to patients in crisis, utilizing a bio-psychosocial approach in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage crisis and emergency situations in the Emergency Department
- Provide care to patients admitted to Trillium in psychiatric crisis, requiring short stay admission to the Intensive Care Unit and the Assessment and Stabilization program
- Assume Charge Nurse responsibilities, directing the work of others and contributing to fluctuating patient care needs
- Administer psychiatric and non-psychiatric medications and treatments, as well as provide group facilitation and assess and prevent suicide and manage aggressive behavior
- Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and community health resources
- Current CPR/Basic Rescuer certification
- Knowledge of CBT/DBT is an asset
- Experience with group facilitation is an asset
- Licensed as an RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing
- 2+ years of experience in Mental Health/Acute Assessment/Community Crisis care
