At CB Canada, we are seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team in Emergency Mental Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care to patients in crisis, utilizing a bio-psychosocial approach in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage crisis and emergency situations in an Emergency Department setting
- Provide care to patients admitted to our psychiatric crisis unit, requiring short-stay admission to the Intensive Care Unit and the Assessment and Stabilization program
- Assume Charge Nurse responsibilities, directing the work of others and contributing to fluctuating patient care needs according to CNO standards and RNAO Best Practice Guidelines
- Administer psychiatric and non-psychiatric medications and treatments, provide group facilitation, and engage with interdisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reports, participate in clinical discussions, team meetings, and patient/family conferences
- Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and community health resources
- Current CPR/Basic Rescuer certification
- Knowledge of CBT/DBT is an asset
- Experience with group facilitation is an asset
- Licensed as an RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing
- 2+ years of experience in Mental Health/Acute Assessment/Community Crisis care
- Sound clinical judgment based on current best practices and patient-centered care
