We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at Homewood Health, a leading provider of mental health and addiction services. As a Registered Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Nursing Care: Provide nursing care to patients with addictions and/or mental health diagnoses, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
- Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams: Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring seamless services and programs are delivered.
- Administer Medications and Treatments: Administer psychiatric and non-psychiatric medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
- Conduct Clinical Assessments: Conduct necessary clinical assessments, including mental status exams, to inform patient care decisions.
- Engage with Patients and Families: Engage with patients and families to provide education, support, and guidance, promoting positive outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Current Registration: Current registration as an RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing.
- Experience and Education: Up to 6 months of experience in general nursing practice, with a strong desire to work in mental health.
- Certifications and Training: Current CPR certification, with CPMHN (C) an asset. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act (MHA), documentation standards (CNO), and privacy legislation (PHIPA) is essential.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills, respectful communication style, and ability to effectively manage crisis situations. Proficient computer skills and comfortable learning new systems.
