Position Overview:

Aviva Canada Inc. is excited to present a promising opportunity within our Small Medium and Enterprise (SME) commercial insurance division. We are looking for skilled Commercial Lines Auto Underwriters for both Junior and Intermediate levels. In this role, you will manage a diverse portfolio of commercial auto accounts, demonstrating your underwriting expertise and dedication to exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and assess risks associated with new and existing Individually Rated Commercial Auto (IRCA) accounts.
  • Support junior underwriters in adhering to corporate underwriting standards while sharing your knowledge and expertise.
  • Analyze various reports to ascertain appropriate exposure and loss ratings.
  • Stay informed about market trends, pricing strategies, and amendments to policy forms.
  • Negotiate renewal terms to ensure business retention.
  • Implement loss control and risk management strategies throughout the underwriting process.
  • Address broker inquiries regarding policy modifications efficiently.
  • Collaborate with brokers to cultivate new business opportunities.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with brokers, managing your assigned portfolio effectively.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service consistently.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial auto underwriting (Intermediate level).
  • 1-3 years of experience in the insurance sector (Junior level).
  • CIP designation is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and administrative capabilities.
  • Highly motivated with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Capacity to meet demanding deadlines and perform well under pressure.
  • Familiarity with RTM systems is an asset.
