  • Reviews all health applications for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulations.
  • Exercises sound and reasoned medical underwriting judgments based on various underwriting requirements and case documentation, taking into account the applicant's medical history and other relevant factors.
  • Communicates with applicants and agents when information is missing or in error on the application, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Communicates case decisions to applicants in a customer-friendly manner, providing clear explanations and next steps.
  • Submits recommendations for cases in excess of approval limits to Senior Underwriter or Manager, ensuring alignment with company policies and procedures.
  • Orders requirements as per Underwriting guidelines or due to medical history, ensuring accurate and thorough assessment.
  • Other duties as assigned, including staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  • Requirements:
    • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field, such as health sciences or business.
    • Bilingual in French and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Minimum 2 years of relevant insurance industry experience in underwriting, with a strong understanding of underwriting guidelines and regulations.
    • Efficient in Microsoft Suite, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
