Core Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Branch Manager, this role is pivotal in fostering the growth of the branch by promoting profitable sales and delivering outstanding customer service through a deep understanding of client requirements and offering tailored solutions.

Main Duties:

  • Engage with customers daily, ensuring prompt and courteous responses to all inquiries.
  • Market a diverse range of products directly to customers, emphasizing Private Brands, Technical Services, and online sales channels while effectively communicating the value proposition.
  • Actively contribute to enhancing branch profitability and product margins.
  • Process customer orders accurately through the computer system, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the product range, completing all necessary training programs.
  • Promote company offerings and suggest alternatives as needed.
  • Participate in maintaining branch cleanliness and organization through adherence to the 5S program.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies, including the Occupational Health & Safety Act and WHMIS.
  • Provide leadership and support to the branch team in delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Assist the Branch Manager with operational and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Support warehouse operations and other branch-related duties as required.
  • Be available for emergency customer calls outside of regular hours and work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary.



Qualifications:

  • 1 to 2 years of prior customer service experience is essential.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and commitment to achieving results.
  • Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently.
  • Knowledge of industrial and safety products is advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and customer service skills for effective relationship building.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to achieving goals.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of meeting tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in computer usage and related skills.
  • Understanding of dangerous goods regulations and WHMIS is required.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are necessary if driving is involved.
  • Minimum completion of High School Diploma; post-secondary education or equivalent experience is preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Reports directly to the Branch Manager.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Regular interaction with team members, management, customers, and suppliers.
  • Work is conducted in an office, showroom, or warehouse setting with moderate noise and frequent distractions.
  • Position requires standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Physical demands may include reaching, grasping, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted, with heavier loads requiring assistance.
  • Frequent use of computers, keyboards, and mice is expected.

Collaborative Relationships:

  • Work closely with customers, vendors, and contractors.
  • Encourage open communication among internal teams, including Sales, Branch, Contact Centers, Distribution, and On-Site Services.
  • Support the sales team with inquiries related to upselling, service, pricing, delivery, and inventory.
  • Contribute to building strong community connections.
