Field Quality Control Specialist - CWB Level II

CO_65 Bird Industrial Management Services Ltd. is a well-established leader in the construction industry, with a rich history of over a century in Canada. We are currently on the lookout for skilled Field Quality Control Specialists to join our Quality Assurance Team for various projects across Western Canada. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the execution and management of diverse quality control tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring compliance with Code and client specifications on-site
  • Interpreting engineering drawings, including P&IDs and isometric diagrams
  • Reviewing third-party documentation such as NDE reports and Material Test Reports (MTRs)
  • Maintaining detailed inspection records and reports, including logs and test documentation
  • Conducting visual inspections of welds, verifying dimensions, and managing weld mapping
  • Preparing Pressure Test Packages and overseeing testing procedures
  • Ensuring traceability of materials by recording and verifying welds and heat numbers
  • Developing and adhering to Inspection Test Plans (ITPs)
  • Assisting in the compilation of turnover documentation
  • Performing additional duties as required

Qualifications We Seek:

  • CWB Level II Certified Welding Inspector
  • Strong understanding of NDE processes and familiarity with ASME B31.3 and CSA Codes
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Proficient in software applications, including Bluebeam and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Experience in Industrial Mechanical Construction and Quality Assurance
  • General knowledge in earthworks, geotechnical work, formwork, concrete, super-structural steel, and infrastructure is an asset
  • Ability to foster positive relationships within the project team
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
