Field Quality Inspector - CWB Level 2

CO_65 Bird Industrial Management Services Ltd., a leader in the Canadian construction sector with a century of expertise, is on the lookout for skilled Field Quality Inspectors to join our Quality Control Team. This role involves supporting a variety of projects across Western Canada, ensuring that all quality standards are met and maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the implementation of Code and client specification requirements on-site
  • Interpreting engineering documentation, including P&ID's and isometric drawings
  • Reviewing third-party records such as NDE and MTRs
  • Maintaining comprehensive inspection records and reports, including logs and test packages
  • Conducting visual inspections of welds, verifying dimensions, and creating Red Line Drawings
  • Preparing Pressure Test Packages and witnessing the associated testing
  • Ensuring Material Traceability by documenting and verifying welds and heat numbers
  • Developing and adhering to Inspection Test Plans (ITPs)
  • Assisting in the compilation of turnover documentation
  • Performing additional duties as required

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • CWB Level II Certified Welding Inspector
  • Strong understanding of NDE processes and familiarity with ASME B31.3 and CSA Codes
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Proficient in software applications, including Bluebeam and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Experience in Industrial Mechanical Construction and Quality Control
  • Knowledge in earthworks, geotechnical work, formwork, concrete, super-structural steel, architectural, and/or infrastructure is advantageous
  • Ability to foster positive relationships within the project team
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail
