About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Department Manager to join our team at Sport Chek. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team of sales associates to deliver exceptional customer service and drive sales growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of sales associates to achieve sales targets and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to drive business growth and improve customer engagement.
  • Coach and train sales associates on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service skills.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve business objectives and improve overall store performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences to inform sales strategies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of retail management experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Proven track record of business growth and exceptional customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated interest in or involvement in sports or the sporting goods industry an asset.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
