About HearCanada: As a member of the WSAudiology group, HearCanada is dedicated to assembling a premier team of hearing care specialists who are committed to delivering exceptional auditory experiences for everyone.
Position Overview: Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Partner Intern will assist all divisions within WSA in addressing various personnel matters throughout Canada.
Work Arrangement: This is a permanent, full-time hybrid role with an expectation of being onsite 2-3 days per week on average.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement HR initiatives, policies, and practices that align with the organization's strategic goals, including training, benefits management, performance evaluation, and workplace safety.
- Serve as an HR authority on personnel issues, interpreting multi-province employment standards to minimize risks; collaborate with external legal counsel and senior HR leadership for complex situations.
- Provide employee relations support in accordance with provincial and federal laws and internal policies, conducting consultations and investigations into matters that could impact the organization, its reputation, and its workforce.
- Work closely with Finance and other experts to develop and maintain HR reporting metrics that deliver essential business insights to senior management.
- Act as a change agent, guiding the organization and its employees through various change management processes, including mergers and acquisitions.
- Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team on strategies for attracting and retaining top talent.
- Coach and support business leaders in the implementation of HR policies and programs.
- Execute HR initiatives with a focus on delivering outstanding customer service and enhancing process efficiency.
- Assist with special projects, employee engagement events, and other tasks as assigned.
- Champion organizational culture by developing meaningful programs aimed at engaging and recognizing employees.
- Partner with the broader HR team to analyze employee feedback from various sources, including engagement surveys and exit interviews, to inform continuous improvement.
- Lead health and safety initiatives and collaborate with Training & Development and Quality teams on compliance-related projects.
- Stay informed about developments in the Human Resources field and propose new initiatives to the HR team.
Qualifications:
- Completion of post-secondary education, preferably at the Bachelor's degree level.
- CHRP designation or in progress (or equivalent HR certification).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources, with at least 3 years in a full-cycle HR role.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is an asset.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, regulations, and legislative changes.
- Experience with multi-province HR legislation is highly preferred.
- Proficient in using tools such as Microsoft Excel (or other BI tools) for calculating severance-related costs.
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions and supporting HR functions related to these activities.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to influence, negotiate, and resolve stakeholder issues.
- Comfortable using various tools, including MS Office Suite and HRIS programs (experience with SuccessFactors or DayForce is a plus).
