As an Event Host with Vail Resorts, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for delivering exceptional experiences for our guests during on-mountain athletic events. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the smooth execution of events, from setup to teardown, while maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants and spectators.
Key Responsibilities:- Event Venue Construction: Build and dismantle event infrastructure, including scaffolding, fencing, tents, banners, and cabling.
- Event Safety: Maintain a keen eye on event safety, ensuring the ongoing maintenance of event venues and addressing any issues promptly.
- Volunteer Management: Lead and assist volunteer crews in event setup, execution, and teardown.
- Event Operations: Assume various roles during events, including assistant timer, starter, Chief of Gates, and finish referee.
- Equipment Management: Safely store and transport event equipment, reporting any damages or required repairs to supervisors.
- Mountain Radio and Communication: Utilize mountain radio and other communication tools to stay informed and coordinate with team members.
- Outgoing and friendly personality with a commitment to exceeding guest expectations.
- Hardworking team player with excellent communication skills.
- Able to work extended hours in variable alpine mountain weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry 50lbs while skiing competently on difficult terrain.
- Computer experience and aptitude for numbers an asset.
- Level I race officials certification an asset.
- Competitive hourly rate of $20.00.
- Full-time and part-time opportunities available.
- Advanced skiing/boarding skills required.
