The Role:

As HKA expands its footprint, expertise, and reputation across various sectors, we are excited to grow our Forensic Accounting and Commercial Damages team in Canada. This presents a unique opportunity to make a significant impact from the outset as the team and service line evolve.

We are looking for professionals in the Greater Toronto/Mississauga Area who are open to a hybrid work arrangement. We welcome candidates ranging from experienced Associates aiming to elevate their skills to established Directors seeking new directions for their expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee or assist with client projects by gathering and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Conduct evidence-based investigations to verify allegations using established investigative methods and cutting-edge technology.
  • Maintain regular communication with client project contacts.
  • Collaborate on the creation of Expert reports.
  • Support the development of complex models to evaluate economic and financial data utilizing spreadsheets and databases.
  • Perform technology-driven data analysis to uncover anomalies, relationships, or trends using advanced analytics and visualization tools.
  • Engage with clients at varying levels of complexity to communicate data, findings, and recommendations while effectively managing expectations.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects within deadlines, collaborating and delegating tasks among team members.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, nurturing strong internal and external relationships while upholding the confidentiality of client interactions and deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • Familiarity with consulting or service-oriented organizations.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics.
  • For senior candidates: experience in dispute consulting, business consulting, forensic accounting, or public accounting.
  • Dedication to delivering high-quality analysis with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Technical proficiency in data analytics and data manipulation. Experience with SQL or other database management tools is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in key Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interaction with diverse audiences and simplification of complex topics.
  • Preferred certifications include CPA, CBV, CFE, or CFI.
