Role Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for spearheading the design, development, and ongoing support of high-performance mobile applications tailored for both iOS and Android platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the architectural design and implementation of scalable mobile solutions, ensuring optimal code quality and performance.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams, including product management, design, and quality assurance, to create innovative mobile product strategies and enhance user experience.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends and advancements in mobile technology to refine development practices continuously.
  • Provide mentorship and technical support to junior developers, promoting a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment within the mobile team.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews and uphold coding standards to ensure a high-quality codebase.
  • Diagnose and resolve intricate technical challenges associated with mobile application development.
  • Work closely with product managers to translate business needs into detailed technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with backend development teams to ensure seamless integration of mobile applications with server-side components and third-party services.
  • Engage in the complete mobile application lifecycle, from initial concept and design through to testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Optimize mobile applications for enhanced performance, scalability, and user experience.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies and frameworks to enhance mobile development workflows.
  • Contribute to the creation of technical documentation and facilitate knowledge sharing within the engineering team.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Over 5 years of experience in agile, cross-functional teams delivering mobile applications.
  • More than 5 years of hands-on experience with Android development using Kotlin or Java.
  • Strong understanding of mobile application architecture and design patterns, with the ability to create scalable and maintainable solutions.
  • Proficient in programming languages relevant to mobile development, with a solid grasp of object-oriented and functional programming principles.
  • Experience in building and integrating mobile application RESTful API solutions is preferred.
  • Familiarity with GraphQL, WebSocket, and version control systems like GitHub is advantageous.
  • Strong capabilities in writing unit tests and conducting automated testing.
  • Expertise in debugging and optimizing mobile applications for performance.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools for automating development, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Understanding of mobile application security best practices and secure coding principles.
  • A self-starter with the ability to take concepts from ideation to implementation.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to present ideas effectively.
