The RBC Digital team is at the forefront of innovation and is expanding rapidly. We are in search of a seasoned Lead Mobile Application Engineer who possesses a fervor for technology and brings extensive expertise in mobile application development.

This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for a blend of in-office and remote work. The schedule will typically involve 2-3 days in the office each week, subject to adjustments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • You will take charge of designing and developing native iOS applications, enhancing and maintaining RBC's mobile banking platform.
  • Engage in and contribute to design and code evaluations to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including project managers, product owners, testers, user experience designers, and security specialists to continuously enhance the application, identifying opportunities to streamline and refactor code.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

  • 3-4+ years of experience in iOS development, proficient in Objective-C, Swift, Xcode, and git.
  • A robust understanding of Object-Oriented Programming, MVC, MVVM, and iOS application architecture.
  • Proven experience in designing and developing user interfaces for both iPhone and iPad applications utilizing UIKit and Interface Builder.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols, including HTTP, SOAP, and REST.
  • Knowledge of IT Standards, UX Design principles, Accessibility, and Agile methodologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative mindset, valuing constructive feedback and possessing strong interpersonal abilities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience within the banking sector.
  • Knowledge of mobile payment systems.
  • Familiarity with Extreme Programming and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Experience with SwiftUI.
