The RBC Digital team is at the forefront of innovation and is expanding rapidly. We are in search of a skilled Lead Mobile Application Engineer who possesses a fervor for technology and a wealth of experience in mobile application development.

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing for a combination of in-office and remote work. The working schedule will typically involve 2-3 days in the office each week, subject to adjustments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will take charge of designing and implementing native iOS code to enhance and maintain RBC's mobile banking platform.
  • Participate in and contribute to design and code evaluations to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including project managers, product owners, testers, user experience designers, and security experts, to continuously refine the application, seeking opportunities to simplify and optimize code.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED:

  • 3-4+ years of experience in iOS development, including proficiency in Objective-C, Swift, Xcode, and Git.
  • A strong grasp of Object-Oriented Programming, MVC, MVVM, and iOS application architecture.
  • Experience in designing and developing user interfaces for both iPhone and iPad applications utilizing UIKit and Interface Builder.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols, including HTTP, SOAP, and REST.
  • Knowledge of IT Standards, UX Design principles, Accessibility, and Agile methodologies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • A collaborative mindset, valuing constructive feedback and possessing strong interpersonal skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience within the banking sector.
  • Knowledge of mobile payment systems.
  • Familiarity with Extreme Programming and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Experience with SwiftUI.
