About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director, Partner Relations to lead our Partner Relations team in Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to optimize and grow the Canadian market for ApplyBoard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Departmental Vision and Strategy: Develop the department's vision, operating principles, strategy, approach, and performance goals, in alignment with ApplyBoard's goal alignment methodology.
  • Lead High-Performance Team: Attract, develop, engage, coach, and retain a team of experienced Partner Relations Managers in Canada and build out a high-performance team.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work in collaboration with the rest of the Partner Relations team, act as a key stakeholder, and consultant in customer experience initiatives across the company.
  • Expand Partnerships and Market Share: Expand partnerships and market share within Canada, both in terms of the number of partners and the collaboration with existing partners.
  • Develop Creative Solutions: Develop creative solutions around challenges and issues both internally and externally.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Act as a subject matter expert to support institutions with internalization strategies and strategic enrollment planning.
  • Brand and Reputation: Elevate ApplyBoard's brand and reputation in Canada.
  • Product Introduction and Sales: Lead the introduction and sales efforts of new products and services.
  • Go-to-Market Strategies: Work cross-functionally on go-to-market strategies, forecasting, and planning.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: 10+ years of post-degree experience, 7+ years of progressive management/leadership experience in international education.
  • Team Management: 5+ years of team management, especially in developing high-performance teams.
  • Contract Review and Negotiation: 2+ years of experience in reviewing and negotiating contracts.
  • Leadership and Customer Service: Demonstrated leadership, effective ability to interact with others, and deal with ambiguous situations. Proven experience in excellent customer service to both internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Problem-Solving and Project Management: Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Adaptability and Data-Driven Decision Making: Flexibility in adapting to change and the ability to succeed in a complex start-up environment. Demonstrated ability to use data and make business decisions using data.
  • Presentation and Business Development: Deliver strong presentations and proven business development skills.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to establish and maintain strong cooperative internal and external relationships.
