Sales Representative

As a Sales Representative at Wesco International, Inc., you will play a key role in driving sales growth and customer satisfaction. Your primary focus will be on interacting with existing customers through phone and email to increase sales of our products and services. You will utilize proactive selling techniques to add business or expand current customer accounts, while collaborating with outside sales teams to ensure goals are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain orders through email and telephone calls, verifying and entering items, and transferring orders to fulfillment.
- Increase orders by suggesting related items, explaining features, and checking customer buying history.
- Own, qualify, and develop opportunities passed from marketing, outside sales, and national accounts.
- Identify ways for continuous improvement of processes.
- Prepare, generate, and follow up on verbal or written quotations to secure orders or determine reason for loss of order.
- Review open customer order reports and take action on open items, including those at risk of missing customer promised delivery dates.
- Maintain distribution system backorder reports, associated customer expediting reports, and notices, as well as customer notifications.
- Report industry trends, competitive pricing, and customer feedback to management.
Qualifications:
- High School Degree or Equivalent required.
- Requires knowledge and experience in sales and sales administration, with a focus on acquiring higher-level knowledge and skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Clear communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to prospect and market concepts to existing and potentially new accounts.
- Ability to take action and solve a range of problems.
- Ability to work independently with general supervision.
