Agricultural Operations Manager

Federated Co-operatives Limited is seeking a qualified Agricultural Operations Manager to oversee the Agro Department.
The Agricultural Operations Manager plays a crucial role in managing the daily functions of the Agro Department, which encompasses product management, order processing, procurement, merchandising, personnel management, and inventory control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Agro Department, including sales performance, profit margins, expense management, inventory oversight, staffing, merchandising, and labor management.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by providing information and assistance that enhances merchandise sales and meets customer expectations.
- Collaborate with the Agro Sales Manager to align departmental operations with sales strategies, forecasts, and objectives, including purchasing, customer pickups, deliveries, and product selection.
- Ensure compliance with merchandising standards, cleanliness, appearance, marketing initiatives, operational procedures, and loss prevention measures by all staff.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all product lines within the Agro Department to ensure a high level of product knowledge.
- Initiate and manage orders for merchandise replenishment from approved suppliers.
- Work closely with the Yard and Receiving teams to ensure timely sharing of all relevant documentation and information.
- Uphold exceptional service standards and ensure all department staff consistently meet these expectations.
- Manage assets effectively and adhere to a scheduled maintenance plan.
- Ensure compliance with the facility and equipment standards.
- Contribute to the annual budgeting process and ensure accurate and timely completion of claims, invoices, and other necessary paperwork.
- Enforce proper recruitment procedures and maintain high hiring standards.
- Implement and uphold performance expectations and standards through written guidelines.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to foster communication and teamwork.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive staff training plan.
- Lead ongoing performance evaluations and coaching for all team members.
- Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures set forth by Federated Co-operatives Limited.
- Engage in self-development initiatives to enhance personal knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum grade 12 education; preference for candidates with relevant post-secondary education.
- At least five years of experience in the agriculture or ranching sector.
- Proven leadership experience with a track record of training and developing teams.
- In-depth knowledge of agricultural and farming products.
- A positive, results-driven attitude.
- Valid Class Five driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong relationship management skills across all organizational levels.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range between $56,630 and $84,945, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
