Lead Underwriting Specialist

Role Overview: As a Lead Underwriting Specialist within the Ovation Underwriting team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the broker experience. Your primary focus will be on delivering exceptional service characterized by professionalism and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide top-tier service, striving for resolution on the first point of contact in all communications.
- Maintain a proactive approach, continuously seeking ways to improve underwriting services.
- Evaluate data, pricing, and coverage options, customizing solutions to meet the unique needs of Ovation clients.
- Engage in negotiations regarding coverage and premiums while ensuring adherence to underwriting standards and profitability.
- Generate quotes for new business, manage endorsements, renewals, and conduct inspections.
- Request and analyze various reports, including claims histories and driver records.
- Efficiently manage multiple applications simultaneously, including Broker Portal, property evaluation tools, Salesforce, Five9, and other web-based platforms.
- Prioritize tasks effectively to ensure timely delivery of services.
- Demonstrate integrity while representing Ovation to our Broker Partners and collaborating with team members and leadership.
- Engage in continuous learning to enhance soft skills and industry knowledge through various educational opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in High Value property insurance.
- CIP, FCIP, or CRM designation either completed or in progress.
- Proven ability to build long-term relationships with brokers through professional interactions.
- Strong listening skills to effectively address broker and customer needs.
- Collaborative mindset to work with internal partners for an optimal broker and customer experience.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail in data analysis and report evaluation.
- Robust analytical, negotiation, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent time management skills, demonstrating a proactive approach and productivity in a hybrid work environment.
