Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional Commercial Underwriter/Real Estate Law Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing title insurance policies to customers for their commercial real estate transactions. You will review transactional information and documents, discuss problems with customers, underwrite defects, and issue policies. Technical knowledge of the practice of real estate law and an understanding of the mechanics of a real estate transaction is crucial.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review title insurance orders and underlying documentation, including title reports, searches, surveys, and other related documents.
  • Underwrite and prepare title insurance policies.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding policy coverage, underwriting, rates, and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain strong customer relationships.
Requirements
  • 5 years of experience as a real estate law clerk in a law firm working on real estate files from open to close.
  • Professional and customer service-focused, with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to pay attention to detail while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Law Clerk designation preferred.
  • Title insurance experience an asset.
