About Us: Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) is dedicated to providing quality education to approximately 6,100 learners from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12 across 34 educational institutions. Position Overview: We are currently looking for a Probationary Full-Time Indigenous Education Support Specialist. This role is essential in enhancing the educational experience for Indigenous students and ensuring their unique needs are met within our school division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with educators to develop and implement culturally relevant teaching strategies.
  • Provide guidance and support to Indigenous students to promote their academic success.
  • Engage with families and communities to strengthen relationships and support student learning.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to raise awareness about Indigenous cultures and perspectives.

Qualifications:

  • A strong understanding of Indigenous cultures and educational practices.
  • Experience working in educational settings is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
