Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clerical Support Specialist to join our Paediatrics team at Southlake Regional Health Centre. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional support to our healthcare providers, patients, and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient appointments and perform clerical duties under the direction of nursing staff and physicians.
  • Act as a receptionist, communicating with patients on the phone and in person.
  • Utilize medical electronic health record systems and computerized provider/physician order entry (CPOE) systems.
  • Provide administrative support to the Department Manager and other team members.
Requirements
  • Minimum one (1) year of clerical duties in an acute care healthcare environment.
  • Proven ability to attend work regularly and demonstrate a commitment to customer service and teamwork.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and analytical skills in relation to knowledge of hospital operations.
  • Demonstrated ability in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Grade 12.
  • Medical Terminology Certificate required.
  • Diploma in Medical Office Administration or evidence of relevant and related post-secondary diploma from an accredited academic institution preferred.
