About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Systems Developer to join our team at Western Heritage Services Inc. as a key member of our IT department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Analysis and Improvement

Collect and analyze data to identify areas for improvement within our organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

Database Development and Implementation

Design, develop, and implement strategic blueprints for deploying databases within our organization, ensuring seamless integration and scalability.

Database Maintenance and Security

Develop and maintain computer databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with organizational policies and standards.

Documentation and Communication

Document customers' requirements for projects, providing clear and concise communication to stakeholders and team members.

Access Control and Security

Enact measures to prevent unauthorized access to data, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information.

Technical Guidance and Support

Provide expert advice to informatics professionals regarding database management tools, best practices, and emerging technologies.

Testing and Quality Assurance

Test data models and database management systems to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.

Database Design and Development

Design and develop databases to meet business requirements, ensuring data storage, retrieval, and manipulation are optimized for performance and scalability.

Database Administration

Operate database management systems to analyze data, providing insights and recommendations to stakeholders and team members.

Data Administration Policy and Standards

Develop and implement data administration policy, standards, and models to ensure data governance, compliance, and best practices.

Data Requirements and Research

Research and document data requirements, data collection, and administration policy, as well as data access rules to ensure data security and compliance.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, with 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in database development and administration.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in PowerBuilder, MySQL, Oracle, and database software, as well as experience with servers and database management systems.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

Ability to work under pressure, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
