Curo Claims Services Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Claims Adjuster to join our team. As a Claims Adjuster, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring timely resolution of property insurance claims.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Service: Respond to customer inquiries, initiate and maintain contact with insured members, and provide assistance with commodity claims overflow.
- Claim Investigation: Confirm coverage for incoming claims by reviewing and compiling facts, obtaining technical reports, and assessing quantum.
- Claim Resolution: Negotiate and resolve property insurance claims of minor to moderate nature in a timely manner.
- Communication: Coordinate with external service providers, including contractors, engineers, and contents specialists, to ensure timely completion of work activities.
- File Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including correspondence, critical path, proof of loss, waivers, and reservation rights letters.
- Investigation: Gather information from insured members, civil authorities, police, witnesses, and other insurers to complete a timely investigation of property loss.
- Quality Service: Maintain quality service standards and adhere to organizational guidelines for file handling, including reserving, expense, and loss control.
- Dispute Resolution: Assist in dispute forums related to policy coverage and provide support and documentation for resolution recommendations.
- Legislative Compliance: Participate in the legislated Property Appraisal Process to resolve quantum disputes during claim file negotiations.
- Condominium Coordination: Coordinate effectively with condominium corporations on insured losses to ensure effective restoration and repairs.
- Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of claims information to protect operations and insured members.
- Data Integrity: Ensure accuracy of data input and maintain well-organized claim files.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to partner guidelines, contracts, and insurance regulations to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
- Team Collaboration: Actively participate in coaching and training sessions and collaborate with team members and management.
- Continuous Improvement: Take an active role in creating an environment of continuous improvement of work efficiencies and highlight value work.
- Education: Post-secondary education and/or college diploma within a related field.
- Certification: CIP designation or working towards designation.
- Licensure: Provincial adjusters license; ability to acquire same.
- Experience: 2+ years' experience with a good understanding of various property policies.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively work with internal and external stakeholders.
- Time Management: Strong time management and organizational skills to manage competing priorities.
- Technical Skills: Current Microsoft Office working knowledge and ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
