About the Role

Cowan Insurance Group is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Broker to support our commercial lines sales team in developing marketing strategies, negotiating coverage terms and pricing, and providing recommendations to create comprehensive and competitive insurance options for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with the Leadership team to leverage technical knowledge and take commercial submissions to the next level.
  2. Stay current on market and industry trends, providing technical advice to colleagues and driving business growth.
  3. Build strong relationships with insurance markets, attend industry events, and report on industry trends to the Commercial team.
  4. Participate in onsite risk inspections and client presentations as needed.
Requirements
  1. 5 years of commercial insurance experience.
  2. RIBO license is required or ability to obtain.
  3. CAIB, CIP, or CRM designation (or working towards designation) would be an asset.
  4. Cross-border and specialty lines expertise is considered an asset.
  5. Self-starter and strategic thinker with a can-do attitude.
  6. Supportive team player.
  7. Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities regularly in a fast-paced environment.
