Overview

The primary responsibility of the Site Construction Supervisor is to oversee all activities on the construction site, ensuring that the project adheres closely to the established plans and specifications. This role is critical in maintaining safety, efficiency, and high-quality standards throughout the construction process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of project documentation, including specifications, drawings, and schedules.
  • Manage daily labor needs and provide leadership in high-pressure situations.
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively on a daily basis.
  • Utilize basic computer software, email, and construction management applications proficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with all members of the construction team and resolve conflicts as they arise.
  • Plan and oversee the establishment of temporary facilities such as power sources, offices, and access roads.
  • Proactively address all construction needs, adapting to project changes as necessary.
  • Supervise and perform necessary surveying and layout for all project components.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure efficient and economical construction operations.
  • Prepare time sheets for all labor directly employed on-site.
  • Complete essential office documentation, including accident reports, material delivery logs, daily reports, cost coding, and filing of project-related documents.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and enforce safety standards.
  • Schedule on-site activities with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure effective project management.
  • Expedite material deliveries for both personal work and subcontractor needs.
  • Ensure all work aligns with the approved plans and specifications.
  • Remain vigilant to protect the company's interests by monitoring construction details closely.
  • Attend regular job meetings with project stakeholders.
  • Lead weekly meetings with all trades to assess project progress.
  • Oversee the proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Ensure the security of the project site, including all materials and equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization on-site at all times.
  • Play a significant role in the timely resolution of any project deficiencies.
  • Familiarity with the IHSA COR Certification Process is an asset.
