Your ability to foster trust-based relationships with both leaders and employees will be key to your success. A minimum of 3 years of comprehensive HR experience in a generalist role is essential.
Key Responsibilities:- Foster a culture of excellence through effective coaching and feedback to leaders.
- Advise management on the implementation of professional development plans and performance improvement strategies.
- Guide leaders in creating a workplace where positive employee relations are fundamental to achieving high engagement and retention.
- Oversee all aspects of labor relations, including grievance management.
- Facilitate the development of initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement.
- Manage claims related to short-term disability, long-term disability, and Workers' Compensation, ensuring a safe return-to-work process.
- Contribute to the People Development and Cultural Development initiatives.
- Assist in internal investigations regarding employment matters.
- Interpret and apply relevant employment practices, including labor laws and collective agreements.
- Stay informed on trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in human resources and employment law, communicating updates to the team.
- Collaborate with the broader HR team on Talent Acquisition and Total Rewards strategies.
- Perform additional duties as necessary.
About You:
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- A degree or diploma in Business or Human Resources, complemented by relevant experience in a generalist HR role. Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in a unionized context, is preferred.
- Proven track record of cultivating a people-centric workplace culture within a growing organization.
- In-depth knowledge of HR practices and principles.
- Familiarity with applicable employment legislation.
- Demonstrated consulting and coaching capabilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on relationship building and influence.
- Able to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- A positive, customer-oriented mindset that enables effective handling of challenging situations with integrity and empathy.
- Proficient in HRIS systems and MS Office.
