Job Description

Job Title: Director of Technology and Regulatory Compliance

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Technology and Regulatory Compliance to join our team at Scotiabank. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our Technology Regulatory Management function and ensuring that our technology activities and recommendations are compliant with relevant regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance Management: Support the Director, Technology Regulatory Management and provide Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) related support, including regulatory change & issues management oversight.
  • Regulatory Change Management: Engage key stakeholders for the analysis and interpretation of regulations, coordinate with stakeholders to conduct gap/impact assessments for regulatory changes, and maintain ongoing awareness of new and emerging regulatory guidelines.
  • Issues Management: Track and update regulatory issues, monitoring compliance issues, on-site reviews, and requests for information (RFIs), and generate reports with commentary on regulatory issues for the monthly IT dashboard.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates on regulatory issues, exams, monitoring compliance issues, on-site reviews, and regulations, and review and provide commentary on regulatory issues and monitor compliance to the Corporate Functions Issue Management dashboard monthly.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 10+ years of experience with strong knowledge in regulatory and industry frameworks, guidelines, and standards governing the management of technology systems and information security (OSFI, COBIT, NIST, ITIL, etc.).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Skills: Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, capable of balancing multiple perspectives, effective at all levels up to senior executive, sound business and technical acumen, and demonstrated agility in learning and ability to quickly become comfortable with unfamiliar business areas or technologies.
