Foresters Financial Services, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide expert legal advice and support to our business units, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely and accurate legal advice to business units on commercial law matters, including procurement and contracts, general corporate commercial advice, and litigation management.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to identify potential risks and opportunities, and develop strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Develop and implement effective programs for corporate governance compliance, including functioning as a corporate secretary for Foresters Board Committees.
  • Manage external and internal legal resources, including needs analysis, resource allocation, and project monitoring.
  • Direct the work of paralegals and external counsel as needed.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for internal clients on legal and business research resources, and provide guidance on legal and business matters.
Requirements:
  • 5-12 years of legal experience, with a focus on commercial law.
  • Subject matter expertise in two or more areas of law.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage working partnerships with all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient with technology, legal research, and concise memo drafting.
  • Ability to communicate complex issues to non-legal professionals.
