Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Photo Experience Sales Associate to join our team at the Vancouver Aquarium. As a key member of our retail sales team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service, promoting the sale of souvenir photos, and contributing to an exceptional visitor experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enthusiastically greet and interact with visitors to capture their souvenir photo upon entering the facility and throughout the Aquarium.
  • Promote the sale of guest souvenir photos, taking, editing, processing, and selling quality digital photos and other customized items while offering excellent customer service.
  • Accurately perform sales transactions for cash, debit, and credit card at point of sale registers.
  • Frequently organize work stations, replenish stock, conduct inventory, and ensure camera and computer equipment are in good working condition.
  • Represent the Aquarium's high standards at all times while wearing the VAMSC uniform.
  • Positively and confidently communicate information about the facility, events, exhibits, and respond to visitors' questions about Stanley Park and other places of interest.
  • Support various Visitor Experience programs, such as conducting visitor surveys, selling memberships, and providing assistance at the Guest Services desk.
  • Participate in the Cross-Training employee program, working at Admissions and Gift Shop.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years high volume retail sales experience selling products, cash handling procedures, cash register – POS, basic computer skills.
  • Basic knowledge of camera operation and photo editing would be an asset.
  • 2 years Customer Service role experience or equivalent.

Working Conditions:

  • Job requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time and walk within the facilities.
  • Job requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Must adhere to the uniform and appearances guidelines.
  • Job requires the ability to safely lift and carry objects weighing up to 15lbs.
  • Potential exposure to upset people, requiring problem-solving skills.
  • Frequent exposure to noise arising from a crowded, busy environment.
  • Continual interaction with customers and staff.
  • Flexibility and availability in schedule are required during the week, including weekends and holidays (occasional overtime during the high season).

Hourly Wage: $19 per hour
