About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team at Shyam Drywall Ltd. as a Drywall Finisher and Installer. This is a permanent position, working 40 hours per week, with a focus on delivering high-quality drywall installation services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings, meeting client specifications.
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife, achieving a seamless finish.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets, ensuring accurate measurements and precise installation.
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists, guaranteeing a sturdy and secure installation.
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry, maintaining a high level of quality control.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound, ensuring a strong and durable bond.

  • Work at heights, requiring a strong sense of balance and spatial awareness.
  • Work in a dusty environment, necessitating regular cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
  • Work in a noisy environment, requiring effective communication and teamwork.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Perform repetitive tasks, requiring attention to detail and a high level of focus.
Weight Handling and Safety
  • Handle weights up to 9 kg (20 lbs), requiring strength and endurance.
  • Wear personal protective equipment, including a hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, and steel-toed safety boots, to ensure a safe working environment.
Personal Qualities and Suitability
  • Demonstrate reliability and a strong work ethic, ensuring timely completion of tasks and projects.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly and contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
  • Speak fluent English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
