About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team at Shyam Drywall Ltd. as a Drywall Finisher. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality drywall installation and finishing work on our commercial and residential projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Finishing: Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish.
  • Corner Bead Installation: Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and ensure a seamless finish.
  • Ceiling Grid Installation: Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
  • Joint Compound Application: Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
  • Sheet Installation: Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets, positioning and securing them to metal or wooden studs or joists.
  • Compound Smoothing: Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry, ensuring a smooth finish.
  • Taping and Embedding: Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Site Environment: Work at heights, in dusty conditions, and in noisy environments.
  • Physical Demands: Bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Weight Handling: Lift and handle materials up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in drywall installation and finishing.
  • Personal Qualities: Reliability, team player, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
