Mentorship Specialist

Job Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mentor to join our team at Ka Ni Kanichihk Inc.
About the Role:
As a member of our Leading Black Wolf program, you will provide transitional supports for youth aged 16-21 who are leaving the care of Child and Family Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized mentorship plans to support youth in achieving their goals and aspirations.
- Foster positive relationships with youth and their families, promoting a sense of belonging and connection to their community.
- Provide guidance and support in areas such as budgeting, housing, and healthy relationships.
- Recruit and retain participants, addressing concerns and troubleshooting requests in a timely and effective manner.
- Model responsible and engaged behavior, promoting a positive and supportive environment.
- Ensure that traditional knowledge and cultural practices are incorporated into all aspects of the program.
- Facilitate and organize a variety of youth activities, promoting socialization and skill-building opportunities.
- Collaborate with the program coordinator to ensure seamless delivery of services and effective communication with stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Relevant post-secondary education or combination of education and experience.
- One to two years of experience working with vulnerable youth.
- A valid Manitoba driver's license, clear driver's abstract, and reliable transportation.
