About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our team at Rock-it Concrete Ltd. As a Concrete Finisher, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality finish on our concrete projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Concrete Finishing: Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement, level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification, and impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
  • Material Handling: Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt, and measure lumber to ensure specified thickness, length, and width.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate power vibrators to compact concrete, jackhammers and drills to break up pavement, and electric vibrators to tamp concrete.
  • Site Preparation: Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.
  • Material Application: Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces, waterproof, damp proof, and restore surfaces, and repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in concrete finishing.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding, with frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Work Environment: Dusty, noisy, and outdoors, with frequent exposure to fast-paced environments.
  • Work Conditions: Ability to work in rural and urban areas, commercial and residential settings, and on sidewalks and curbs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 40 to 50 hours per week.
  • Work Term: Seasonal.
