As an Automobile Damage Claims Adjuster, your responsibilities will include investigating and managing reported claims in line with company policies and regulatory standards. This role primarily involves engaging with policyholders and service providers to effectively adjudicate moderately complex auto damage claims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough investigations to gather details of the loss via telephone or through independent adjusters.
- Adjusting automobile damage claims across various provinces.
- Setting reserves for all claims according to established guidelines.
- Maintaining comprehensive and precise documentation for each claim file.
- Responding promptly to new claims and inquiries over the phone.
- Interpreting coverage and applying it appropriately to each case under home and auto policies.
- Processing necessary payments based on the facts of the loss and applicable coverage.
- Upholding customer satisfaction standards to enhance client retention and mitigate claim severity.
Qualifications for Success:
- Ability to adapt to change and a commitment to continuous improvement to exceed client expectations.
- Strong communication skills to convey information clearly and effectively.
- Team-oriented mindset, sharing knowledge to support colleagues.
Required Qualifications:
- Possession of or progress towards the CIP Designation.
- Minimum of 2 years of claims handling experience or 3 years in the insurance/financial sector.
- General knowledge of current industry trends and issues related to automobile damage claims, client service, time management, and auto repairs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and familiarity with claims database systems.
