Nursery Manager Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursery Manager to join our team at JRT Nurseries Inc. As a key member of our horticulture team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our nursery, ensuring the health and well-being of our plants, and leading a team of staff to achieve our business goals.
Key Responsibilities- Plant Management: Control reported insect, disease, and weed problems to maintain a healthy and thriving plant stock.
- Inventory Management: Determine the type and quantity of stock to grow, ensuring we meet customer demand and maintain a balanced inventory.
- Staff Supervision: Hire, train, and supervise staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Operations Management: Establish work schedules, order materials and stock, and supervise staff in planting, transplanting, feeding, and spraying.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all plants meet our high standards of quality and are prepared for sale or distribution.
As a Nursery Manager at JRT Nurseries Inc., you will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. You will be exposed to various weather conditions, including heat and odors, and will be required to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) on a regular basis.
Requirements- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Physical Capabilities: Combination of sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
