Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Organizational Development Specialist to join our team at Toromont Cat. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will play a critical role in driving organizational change and development initiatives that support our business goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in Health and Safety Initiatives: Support Toromont's Health and Safety Policies, Programs, and initiatives by demonstrating safe work behaviors and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
  • Research and Implement New Learning Methodologies: Partner with the OD Consultant to research, recommend, and implement new learning methodologies that engage employees at all levels and support business objectives.
  • Coordinate Learning and Development Logistics: Coordinate the logistics of learning and development programs, including marketing and promotion, to ensure successful program delivery.
  • Provide Company Website Content: Develop and maintain company website content and updates to support organizational development initiatives.
  • Schedule Program Offerings: Schedule program offerings with the OD team and business partners to support business needs and objectives.
  • Prepare Participant Learning Materials: Prepare and design participant learning materials, including activity sheets, handbooks, job aids, visuals, leader guides, and other resources.
  • Manage Registration and LMS Enrollment: Manage the registration process and LMS enrollment for various systems, maintain course completion and evaluation records, and provide input on new LMS requirements.
  • Provide Venue Selection and Scheduling: Select and schedule venues for events, including live and virtual sessions.
  • Organize and Execute Program Logistics: Organize and execute the shipment of materials, classroom setup, and design for both live and virtual sessions.
  • Deliver Employee Development Programs: Deliver existing and design future employee development programs, leveraging virtual classroom technologies to support business objectives.
  • Develop Evaluation Tools: Develop and manage evaluation tools, including online assessments and questionnaires, to collect and analyze data for learning dashboard metrics.
  • Partner with OD Team and HR Business Partners: Partner with the OD team and HR business partners to prepare needs analysis and determine learning and performance requirements aligned with organizational and leadership competencies.
  • Support OD Framework Development: Support the development and implementation of the OD framework, including animation development, program tools, and resources.
  • Leadership Development Programs: Provide support to the OD team to successfully launch the Leadership Academy, including project management, administration, logistics, and administration of the All Access Portal.
  • Conduct and Facilitate Learning Sessions: Conduct and facilitate learning sessions across various Toromont programs, including the 6 Critical Practices and PI.
  • Support Administration: Support administration around 360 programs and related reporting.
  • Prepare Data Summaries: Prepare data summaries of employee experience surveys for the OD team and HR business partners to review.
  • Support Talent Review Process: Provide support to the OD team and HR business partners during the talent review process, including the collection and organization of data for leader and board presentations.
  • Manage Canada Job Training Grants: Manage ongoing administration and collection of data for Canada Job Training Grants.
  • Respond to Employee Inquiries: Respond to and facilitate employee inquiries and requests.
  • Support HR Systems: Provide support to HR systems on various assignments as prescribed.
  • Support Employee and Community Involvement Events: Actively support the HR team in planning and organizing various employee and community involvement events.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
  • Post-Secondary Education in Learning or Diversity and Inclusion: Enrolled or graduated from post-secondary in learning or diversity and inclusion programs.
  • Customer-Centric and Team Player: Highly customer-centric and a strong team player with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with bilingualism (French and English) being an asset.
  • Detail-Oriented and Organized: Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Confidentiality and Diplomacy: Ability to handle confidential and sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as proficient in learning new systems and implementing new tools or programs.
